Why an Orthodontist in North Las Vegas? Orthodontist vs. Dentist

An orthodontist is a dentist, but a dentist is not an Orthodontist. All orthodontists are dentists first, but though not every dentist has the qualifications to be an orthodontist. Dr. Leaver and Dr. Gardner continued her formal education for 2 or 3 additional years before receiving the necessary license and certification. As an orthodontist, Dr. Leaver and Dr. Gardner have spent years studying nothing but how and why to move teeth. This includes what to do, how to plan, and how to execute the appropriate treatment plan.

Why does it matter if you see your North Las Vegas Orthodontists?

Specialists receive additional training to give them the skills needed to deal with more complex orthodontic problems. Dentists receive basic orthodontic training which allows them to perform root canals, extract wisdom teeth, and treat young children who do not need to see an orthodontist yet.

Seeing a specialist like an orthodontist may change your experience in braces by:

  • Providing additional treatment options.
  • Giving you more efficient treatment and visits, because it is the office’s primary area of care.
  • Knowing that you’ll receive the best possible outcome on your treatment plan, especially if you have severe bite problems that need to be addressed.
  • Personal experience treating multiple cases that share your unique concerns
  • Being seen more quickly, as a family dentist will be focused on longer patient cases or emergencies throughout the day.

You may think it’s easier to have your orthodontic work completed by your dentist. Convenience shouldn’t be a concern, because you will only be stopping by your North Las Vegas orthodontic offices every six to eight weeks.

And don’t let price be a problem either! Leaver and Gardner Orthodontics is proud to provide affordable treatment in the North Las Vegas area.

Testimonials from North Las Vegas orthodontist patients

Leaver & Gardner Orthodontics has the very best staff in the business. They are all super friendly and very considerate of your time. I have never been in the office longer than was necessary to do paperwork or get work done. They have a waiting room, but I have never spent much time in it. Dr. Gardner is incredibly personable and takes the time to understand your needs and get to know you. I will recommend them to everyone I know! - Thomas

Every time I walk into this office my teeth rejoice in the triumph as they are straightened and fixed. I would like to say that I feel like the Pope when I sit in there because everyone there treats me so nicely and gives me so much attention. I notice that they really care about me when they ask me how I’m doing and if “anything is poking me” and they try to decide the most comfortable and efficient way to fix my mouth. It’s not about the money there, it’s about the customer. - William Bowler

I had to have braces because of many reasons. I was a little scared of how I would look or how the outcome would be. Since the very beginning of the first meeting with Dr. Gardner, everyone was super nice and friendly. The environment is very welcoming, I love going back each and every time. I'm big on comfort and personalization and everybody here hit the nail spot on for my expectations. They remember your name, they all always have smiles on their faces, they care about you and your well being. Needless to say, they definitely took great care of me. I've had my braces off for about 5 or 6 months now and I have never felt more confident nor have I ever smiled so much. I owe it all to the fantastic people here, who have changed my life forever! - Rose Harbin
